Both June and Summer 2017 are Upon us
Well hello there my friends! Happy June! Here we are, staring summer in the face, and it’s staring right back at us. Are you ready for it? I am, even if my summer body is not. (I know I’ve made that joke before but I will keep making it as long as it keeps ringing true.)
Honestly, I got sick to death of being afraid of the warmer months. Not even afraid, but terrified! I thought that having to wear shorts, t-shirts, and (God forbid) bathing suits would be a task too onerous for me. But now, I’m tired of being terrified. I look how I look, and although I want to make some improvements of course, that doesn’t mean that I’m going to hide away in the shadows and shroud myself head-to-toe so no one can see me. That is just ridiculous.
Anyway, that’s enough of that rant. I prefer to think of it as “body positivity” but I still don’t wanna go on too long.
May was a real slack-off month for me, I feel like. As much as I hate to say that, it’s true. It’s not like I meant to do that or anything. I did get a considerable amount of work done, but I didn’t come close to reaching any of the personal goals I set for myself in May. Yes, I’m setting goals for myself, trying to improve myself, doing this for myself, but myself is turning out to be the harshest critic. Maybe myself should lay off of me a bit.
I have had a minute interest in my book, so I will offer a small update. The first book is looking like it’s on track to be finished by end of August, provided there are no major roadblocks along the way. In May, the writing I got done ended up equaling about 2 pages a day, which is not good, as I usually complete between 6-12 pages a day. I definitely slacked off on the book front, and I’m going to rectify that in June.
Also in May, you may have noticed that I posted a whopping 3 or 4 (even I can’t remember!) blog posts. I apologize for that as well, but honestly, I’m not quite as upset about that as I am everything else. As you can probably see for yourself, (and as I mentioned in my recent “What’s New Around Here” blog post, click here to read), I’ve been doing a lot of construction, maintenance, and just all-around editing the layout here on AngelSpartaness Lifestyle. I’ve put a lot of time and effort in to sprucing this place up, and I think it was worth it. I’ve been getting compliments on it, and more importantly, I’m quite satisfied with how it looks now. So, I call that a win. But in June, I am sticking to the new posting schedule I mentioned. I have a lot of great posts and content lined up. I’ve been getting a lot of long, sunny days, so I have been getting lots of photography done. All in all, I think I’m pretty set to go into June with the plan to post three times a week. So look out for that 🙂
I slacked hardcore on the fitness front. I did start working out outside, but I hardly went to the gym. Missed a bunch of yoga classes, too. So that’s one goal I’m going to be focusing heavily on this coming month. Summer is pretty motivating for getting in shape, so hopefully that works to my advantage and not the other way around (which is to say, discouraging me). So, make sure you root for me as I try to blast away my fitness goals.
